The strike is a combining mark added to your letters and numbers, so the words themselves are never replaced. All four variants reuse marks that are already part of the existing combining-mark set; no new character is introduced. A heavier strike is not offered because Unicode contains only one long horizontal overlay and repeating it does not look heavier in ordinary fonts.

Stroke position and weight depend on the destination font, so a strike can sit slightly high or low in another app. Check the pasted result before you rely on it, and keep information people must read in plain text.

A combining stroke over your own words

The tool adds one combining strike character over each letter and number. Your words are not rewritten, shortened or replaced, and the result updates while you type so you can check it before copying.

Choose a horizontal or diagonal strike

Single strike draws a long horizontal line, while Short bar uses a shorter stroke. Diagonal strike and Short diagonal create a slashed look. Compare them on your own words, because line placement can vary with the font in the app where you paste.

Combined with an existing letter style

Keep your original letters or combine the strike with serif bold, script, small caps or monospace. For a longer sentence, ordinary letters usually make the crossed-out words easier to read.

Copyable characters, not markup

This is not an HTML strikethrough tag, a Word shortcut or a CSS text-decoration rule. Copying the line copies the visible characters, and the extra strike mark may affect how screen readers pronounce the text.

These styles use Unicode characters, not downloadable font files. Appearance and accessibility vary by app and device. Keep essential information readable.
